The next stage of the phased reopening of Wadebridge Library is on its way. We will be offering a service consisting of limited browsing which will include a small children’s section. The Click and Collect service will still be available.

From Tuesday 3 November 2020 you will be able to:

  • Browse (10 mins max) and borrow books.
  • Return your loans.
  • Use the Click and Collect service.

Library Hours of Opening from 3 November will be:

  • Tuesday to Friday - 10am to 12.30pm & 2pm to 4pm
  • Saturday - 10am to 12.30pm

What to expect when you visit Wadebridge Library:

  • When entering the Library, you must wear a mask or face covering if able to do so.
  • At the entrance, you must use the hand sanitiser provided.
  • We are limiting the number of people allowed in the Library to 3 at any one time. You may have to queue outside at busy times so, if you can, please limit the number of family members visiting in a group.
  • No unaccompanied under 12s please to ensure social distancing measures are adhered to.
  • Signs and floor markings are in place to assist with and help maintain social distancing.
  • You may be unable to browse all our Library collections due to current social distancing rules, but our knowledgeable staff will be able to help and advise you if you phone ahead on 0300 123 4111.
  • Photocopying will not be available
  • There will be no access to the public computers at the present time.
  • The children’s area will be closed, but children’s books will be available for browsing and borrowing.
  • All visitors must check in with the NHS Test and Trace QR code or provide staff with contact details.
  • Payments can be made by cash and card.

Fines:

Since March 2020 Wadebridge Library has waived fines for anyone who was unable to return borrowed items. From 3 November 2020 we will be reintroducing fines to ensure borrowed stock is returned promptly for other users.

If you have borrowed items that are now overdue, please return those items to the Library. If you do this before 3 November 2020 charges will not apply.

Protecting you and our staff:

Please do not visit the Library if:

  • You have had coronavirus symptoms in the past 10 days
  • A member of your household has had coronavirus symptoms in the past 14 days
  • You have been in contact with someone who has had coronavirus symptoms in the past 14 days

Safety measures are in place in the Library including perspex screens at staff desks to minimise contact between staff and our customers. Staff have been supplied with masks, gloves, face guards and hand sanitisers. Hand sanitiser is also available for you to use in key locations around the Library.

NHS Test and Trace:

All visitors to our Library will be required to scan the displayed QR code upon entry as part of the NHS Test and Trace system. If you are unable to scan the code, you will be asked to submit your details to a member of staff so that we can keep a record of your visit.
