New Cancer Café for Wadebridge
Concern Wadebridge, Age UK Cornwall & Isles of Scilly in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and North Cornwall Coast PCN are opening a cancer café for anyone in the Wadebridge area who is affected by cancer.
You may have a diagnosis, being going through or have finished treatment. You may be a family member or a friend and you may be caring for someone.
However you are affected by cancer, you will be very welcome.
The café is free to anyone affected by cancer. It’s a chance to talk about how you are doing, share tips on what has helped you or just enjoy a coffee and some good conversation with people in a similar situation as yourself.
The café is non-clinical – meaning we can’t offer medical advice. However, there will be people from Age UK Cornwall & Isles of Scilly and a Social Prescriber to listen and help you decide and find the support you need.
Dates: starting Friday 12th August, and every 2nd and 4th Friday in the month after that.
Time: 10-12 am
Venue: John Betjeman Centre ( Concern Wadebridge), Southern Way, Wadebridge, PL27 7BX
Did you know Wadebridge Town Council provides Grant Assistance to Local Organisations
We love to support our local community and organisations and see how Town Council grant funding can be put to such great use.
A perfect example of this is Wadebridge Carnival held on Saturday in town.
The Town Council supported the Carnival by awarding the Carnival Committee a grant of £500.00, we were also able to provide further support with the free hire of our park, the use of Town Council road closure signs and by closing off part of our car park early in the day.

Meet Councillor Emma Pate 
Emma became a member of the Town Council in June 2022 and is on the Wadebridge West Ward.
" I have recently joined Wadebridge Town Council ; I love where I live, and I want to do all I can support the future development of the town. It is a wonderful place to live ,work, to be active and to learn.
I have a particular interest in sustainable food for all and I am currently working on developing a sustainable food partnership within Cornwall. I am hoping that Wadebridge can be part of this work. "
