We have had a few comments with regards to the Town Hall clock not showing the correct time and that it has now stopped.

Due to Covid-19 the clock is unable to be wound (being a manual wound clock not electric) because of lockdown of the Town Hall as two people are required to perform this duty. This will not be wound again until the Town Hall is fully staffed.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Egloshayle Cemetery is CLOSED to the public until further notice

Wadebridge Town Council, as the burial authority, has received clear guidance from the Government and the Local Government Association that our cemetery should now be closed to the public, except for funerals or burials.

We know this will be distressing for you and this is why we have not taken any action to close the cemetery until we have been instructed to do so.  As the authority responsible for the Cemetery we have a duty to discourage public gatherings and encourage social distancing in trying to help our NHS and to stop the spread of Coronavirus.  Regrettably, this now applies to our Cemetery.

We understand that the Cemetery is a very special place and brings comfort when you visit your loved ones.  Please be assured we will continue to look after the Cemetery and, like you, look forward to being able to open once again.

Please take care and if you need to speak to us please contact us on 01208 851929.

Thank you Wadebridge for clapping last night for all the carers, the NHS, key workers and everyone putting themselves forward to #FightCOVID19and keep us safe at home. https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tfe/1/16/1f44f.png"); background-repeat: no-repeat no-repeat;">👏

Same time, same place, next Thursday 8:00pm.

You may see a couple of our Parks Dept staff cutting grass in Town Council parks and our cemetery.  These are areas where we know people are taking their daily exercise and we are supporting you in doing this safely by keeping our parks tidy and accessible.  We will not be doing this as often as we normally do but we know you will understand our need to keep our staff safe.  If you do see our staff out and about we respectfully ask you not to approach them to allow them to complete their work as quickly as possible.  Ordinarily they enjoy talking to everyone but these are not ordinary times.

You may also have noticed we are emptying both our litter and dog waste bins to continue to keep our parks a lovely place to be.  Sadly we have received a number of complaints about dog walkers not picking up after their pets - please have regard to everyone who uses our park and pick up after your dog.

We are also not asking our staff to litter pick at the moment but our parks have lots of bins - please use them rather than throwing your litter on the ground.  It's not acceptable to see litter on the ground.

Enjoy our parks and enjoy your exercise

Stay safe everyone.
