Council Services
Wadebridge Town Hall & Wadebridge Library Events:
Following the death of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II, the Country now enters a period of national mourning which is expected to last for around 10 days.
It is with deep regret that all pre-planned events, bookings and Council Meetings in the Town Hall and Library from Friday 9th September until at least Monday 19th September will be cancelled with immediate effect (please note that Pavilion bookings will be going ahead as usual).
In line with the protocol it is not appropriate to hold events during a period of national mourning.
We understand that some will be disappointed by this news but holding events / bookings is not fitting with the mood of the nation or in accordance with the recognised protocol.
The Town Council feels that the passing should be marked in a dignified, solemn, and appropriate manner.
The Town Hall will only be available for residents and visitors to sign the book of condolence in the Main Hall, which will be archived after the funeral.

Egloshayle Church will host an Ecumenical service on Sunday 18 September at 10:30am to give thanks for and celebrate the life of the Queen
Flowers
Flowers may be laid outside of the Town Hall and at The Memorial Stones at Egloshayle. It is respectfully requested that no cellophane or plastic is left on the flowers. The flowers will be removed the day after the funeral of her Majesty the Queen. It is the intention of the Town Council that the flowers will be composted and the compost used to plant a tree in memory of the Queen.
Flags & Proclamation
Flags
Today (Saturday 10th September) flags will, at the start of the day, be flying at half-mast.
At 11:00am (Saturday 10th September) flags will then be raised to full mast to coincide with the reading of the Principal Proclamation in London. They will continue to fly at full mast until 1:00pm the following day (Sunday 11th September). This is because the Proclamation, having been read in London will then be read at the capital cities of the home nations on Sunday.
At 1:00pm on the day of the local proclamations (Sunday 11th September) all flags should be lowered to half-mast again until the end of mourning after the funeral.
