APPEAL FOR LAND 🌿

Wadebridge Town Council is urgently seeking to purchase, or lease, a parcel of land within or close to Wadebridge. The land is required for use as an allotment site. πŸ₯”πŸ…πŸ₯•

The Town Council currently provides allotments with a capacity of 78 allotment gardens however, these cannot remain on the current site indefinitely as this land was purchased for use as a cemetery for Wadebridge. There is a covenant in place to ensure that the land does become a second cemetery when required.

It is the Town Council’s intention to source a parcel of land in order to relocate the current allotment gardens as soon as possible. This is because arrangements will need to be made to both transfer allotment tenants to the new site and to prepare the current site for use as a cemetery.

If you have, or know anyone with suitable land please contact the Town Clerk to discuss details. The land does not necessarily have to be within the Wadebridge parish or large enough to transfer all plots to.

Wadebridge Town Council – Warm Space β˜•

It should not be the case that people cannot afford to keep their homes warm, but that is the reality we are facing, and we are joining with other partners in Wadebridge to support our community.

We are opening the Town Hall one evening a week from November as a space for residents to feel secure, access warmth with company and a friendly face, over the autumn and winter – free of charge.

You can charge your electronic devices, use Wi-Fi, study or work with hot drinks available. Feel free to bring along anything that makes your evening more comfortable (blankets, cushions etc). Our first warm space evening will be starting on Thursday 3 November and will operate on Thursdays throughout November and will be open between 6pm and 10.30pm. December dates will be confirmed shortly..

Please let us know what you would like to see in the Town Hall on our warm space evenings.

Wadebridge Library is a warm place to visit during its opening hours as is Concern Wadebridge located at the Betjeman Centre. Other areas of warm space can be located on the Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum website VSF - Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum (cornwallvsf.org) or via the community hub map via this link https://cornwallvsf.org/community-hubs
