Sunday saw the Christmas lights get taken down for safe storage until November. ⭐ 🎄

Wadebridge Town Council would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved and all the hard work put in yesterday despite the weather.

A special big thank you to the following:

- Davey Electrical Services ltd

- All Volunteers

- John Young at The Granary in Wadebridge (for providing refreshments)

- The Bridge On Wool (for providing refreshments)

Without you all, our spectacular Christmas lights would not be possible. Also another big thank you and appreciation to Davey Electrical Services ltd team for attending to any failures and breakages. 🔨

Lastly, thank you to all residents and visitors to Wadebridge yesterday with your patience with any traffic disruption caused with the lights being taken down. 🚗

It was lovely to see the town lit up again and our community coming together to help make our town shine. ⭐

The day was finished with a well deserved drink for some of the team🍺

It is with great sadness that we report after 11 years as Town Councillor and, more recently, as our Mayor, that Amanda Pennington has resigned from the Council. Amanda joined the Town Council in September 2011 after the town called an election to fill 2 vacancies and became the Mayor in May 2021. Over the past 11 years Amanda has been part of many successful Council projects and has sat on a variety of working groups, giving lots of her time to her role as Town Councillor while managing her many other commitments.

Amanda served as a Town Councillor for the right reasons – to represent Wadebridge and to make the town a better place to live. She was always proud to support her town and never failed to speak up or step up on a variety of local issues. Amanda was Chair of the Planning Committee for several years and led the Council in considering many planning applications and always tried to engage the Community to look at planning proposals and encouraged them to comment and share their opinion.

Amanda was well respected by her fellow councillors and staff and, as someone who had the best interests of Wadebridge at heart, she will be sorely missed. We are extraordinarily grateful for all she has done for the Town, and as Councillor Pennington, we will miss her wise counsel, and true service to Wadebridge.
